Halazonetis Lab

Open Positions

PhD Student Position

A PhD student position is available to study synthetic lethality approaches in human cell lines undergoing DNA replication stress. High throughput screening and next generation sequencing will be used to identify and characterize gene targets of interest. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the University of Geneva International PhD Program in Life Sciences. This position is part of the Marie Curie ITN European Network SYNTRAIN, a multi-investigator training project funded by the European Commission. The successful candidate is expected to enroll in the PhD Program in March 2017.

PhD Student and Postdoctoral Positions

PhD Student and Postdoctoral positions are available to work on a project on oncogene-induced DNA replication stress that is being funded by an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant (ONIDDAC; May 2012-April 2017). The goals of the project are to understand the mechanisms by which oncogenes induce DNA replication stress and genomic instability and to identify the key pathways, whose inhibition leads to synthetic lethality in cells that have oncogene-induced DNA replication stress. The methodology employed ranges from analysis of human clinical samples to siRNA screens in tissue culture cells to protein crystallography.
