Epigenetic inheritance of chromatin states

Our main research objective is to elucidate how chromatin states are epigenetically inherited from one generation to the next, with a focus on the roles of histone variants. We are particularly interested in the organization and maintenance of centromeric chromatin containing the histone variant CENP-A, and in the functions of the histone variant H3.3 in differentiation, development and disease. We use the nematode C. elegans as a main model system.
